In Matthew 23:1-12 Jesus exposes the "masks of hypocrisy" worn by religious leaders who demand moral perfection from others while seeking self-exaltation and human praise. We are invited to reject the crushing weight of empty religiosity and embrace the humble path of the King, who leads by serving and offers true rest to the weary heart.
